Little things that actors add to their performances makes all the difference sometimes. Just noticed during “Dju Vui Vai” Tanya goes on her tiptoes during the photograph with Chris and the bargirls after getting blessed. So adorable, especially given how tiny she is!
I think it’s cute that Rachelle and one of the GI’s Matthew Jeans are dating. I heard they went to Paris and Barcelona together for their holidays. I so totally ship those two!
Aaaaah thank you so much! And there was a point around opening night where I’d be getting 30 confessions a day which got very overwhelming, especially since a lot of them were responses to other confessions. Luckily now I have the queue system in place and it’s a lot more manageable :)
Please vote for Rachelle Ann Go for West End Frame’s Best West End Debut Award
Hi everyone :-) I hope you don’t mind me posting this here. This is actually helping Miss Saigon’s very own Rachelle Ann Go/Gigi who’s actually nominated for West End Frame’s Best West End Debut Award. May I please ask for your help to please vote on this poll: http://www.westendframe.com/2014/09/vote-best-west-end-debut-2014.html (THANKS A LOT!!!)
FUCK YOU JAKE
I’m still hoping that somewhere along the line, Rachelle gets to play Kim.
I think Tanya’s Kim is even better than Lea Salonga’s.
Mod note: 700th confession!
I actually don’t like Simon’s voice but after listening to Alistair, I’m starting to like Simon now.
I think the perfect Kim would have Eva’s looks with Tanya’s acting and Lea’s voice. Eva looks young and naive but she also has that “I won’t back down” vibe which I think works well for Kim. With Tanya’s looks, sometimes it shows that she’s no longer a teen (I think it’s her angular features) but I think if Kim was a real person in that situation, she would be like how Tanya plays her. And no one could really top Lea’s vocals. Her voice is just the perfect mix of tenderness and strength.
I think Eva’s public attitude is definitely improving. I believe initially she was fairly new to being a public figure and it just took her some time to adjust to it. She was a lot friendlier at the stage door last week compared to when I first saw her. And her voice is phenomenal, don’t know why people ever question it! I still prefer Tanya as Kim, because I prefer her acting to Eva’s, but Eva is far from being a weak performer! This girl will only improve with time.
It’s a very grainy highlights video but yeah, and can you message me off anon? I’m fine to share it, but only privately.
I have a whole new appreciation of Tanya now that she’s starting to do press of her own. I used to think of her as “second rate” based on how fans here talk about her in comparison to Eva and being “only” an alternate. But from what I gather, she doesn’t care if she’s the star or not. She didn’t even want to be in London in the first place. While most people would jump at the slightest opportunity to be in the West End or Broadway, this girl is just happy to be doing theater, big stage or not.
